1922 Clifford Essex 5-string banjo
Made in Grafton Street, London in 1922 this Clifford Essex Paragon 65 Professional is a rare and desirable 5 String banjo. All hardware is original and plating good. Original Waverly tuners, neck is straight, angle is good. Condition excellent apart from 1 neck inlay missing, professional replaced binding on neck and replaced 5th tuner. 1931 National Style 0
This is an early, rare, "variation 1" bell-brass Style 0 as described in pages 84 - 87 of the Bob Brozman book "The History and Artistry of National Resonator Instruments". Both collectible and highly playable, this Style O features original tuners, nut, frets, coverplate and tailpiece but a 1937 cone. Good action for both slide and standard style playing. The tone: standback - it's loud and sweet. A particularly fine sounding example of this classic model. Bob played it when he was in Canberra in 2004 and declared it a winner. Circa 1939 Master Lap Steel
A very unusual and perfectly functional very early Australian-made lap steel, the "Master" features a hot pickup with 6 individual windings (one for each string; two recently rewound so pickup works perfectly), volume and tone plus a small original chrome bust of the "Master" decorating the picking zone, a cast aluminium 'fretboard, then at the headstock end a unique and fully working tuner design (covered by a hand-shaped chrome plate not shown in these pics). 1940 Oahu acoustic
Circa 1940 Oahu 'Na Li'i' acoustic square-neck lap guitar, in excellent condition with original case in good shape. Made for Oahu by Regal in Chicago, the name translates from the Hawaiian as "The Chief" or "The King", and this model, although small bodied (as appropriate for lap style playing), was the top of the line with bound solid spruce top, laminated birch back and sides and unique metal pyramid bridge, all of which gives very good volume and tone to match the charm and rarity of this product of the early 20th century era of Hawaiian guitar music.

Circa 1950 Magnatone MOTS Lap Steel
A great opportunity to have a classic lap steel to play and enjoy. Made by Magnatone Los Angeles in the good old days around the same time as Leo was just thinking about marketing the first Tele. Features cool grey-shading-to-violet MOTS (mother of toilet seat) body in excellent condition, chrome is great too, all the cosmetics are super cool on this Magnatone. But the bonus is the super hot pickup for sounds that are every bit as good as a Supro or Ric for David Lindley style steel excurions. No case with this one. 1954 Gibson LG1
From the mid 1950's Gibson "Golden era", this 1954 LG1 has the desirable thin / tall bracing that featured until 1955. The fine sunburst spruce top, and mahogany back and sides are all in excellent condition, with the original finish in particularly good shape compared to most LGs that ones sees from the '50s. All original with a crisp detailed tone and smooth action especially suitable for fingerpicking. There are two marks (due to neoprene guitar stand reacting to lacquer) on the lower back and neck/headstock area. These are in the finish only and do not affect structure or playability. Older but not original hard case. A Lovely fingerpicker at a GREAT PRICE.

Circa 1955 Gibson Consolette Dual 8 Steel
A very sweet sounding and original twin neck steel guitar that oozes 'Hank Williams' tone. Gibson afficionados note these interesting details: the body is Korina mahogany, the 'fretboards' are finished in Les Paul Goldtop lacquer, the P100 pickups (P90 style but wider, with cream covers) sound incredible, all electronics are original, tuners work well. Four legs screw in to the underside of body. Steel and four legs all pack into original Gibson pink plush lined leatherette case in very good condition. 1962 Harmony H74
Made in Chicago in 1962, here's a very nice example of one Harmony's up market thinline hollowbody guitars. Assymetrical "Tele style" double bound cutaway body in very attractive iced tea nitro finish, two DeArmond ('Ry Cooder') goldfoil pickups, 'cupcake' knobs, DeArmond engraved Bigsby, bound neck, metal (not stencilled) Harmony logo on headstock, good tuners, all works and plays as it should, great tone. 1963 gibson B-25
The successor to Gibson's LG model, here is a lovely 47 year old small bodied flat-top Gibson. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, classic Gibson neck and very tidy oringinal condition apart from one or two small marks on body. This guitar retains it's original Gibson adjustable bridge in black plastic - not one of Gbison's most famous innovations, that's true, but having said that there is nothing lacking in tone or structural strength in this bridge / top setup. One or two frets about 15th are misfretting - we are checking these out at the moment but otherwise an excellent player. Comes with original Gibson logo hard case. 1963 Fender Stratocaster refin
An early L series Stratocaster, serial # L07267, neck date Jul 63, this Strat has 'the' vintage feel and sound. Original: tuners, decal, body, pickups (two rewound), bridge and other hardware including bridge and tone pots. Not original: refin in black nitro and the 'guard is yellow rather than green tint, most likely late 60s, reissue whammy bar, replaced volume pot, and professional refret with 75% life in frets. 1964 Fender Precision Bass
Originally Olympic white, this bass went thru a non-professional natural wood re-finish in the '70s, and received a non original pickguard at the same time. The neck is sensational, straight and smooth, the nitro fully worn away from the back of the neck for a natural woody feel; frets are worn, we would recommend a refret. c. 1969 Guyatone 'Black Falcon'
This guitar is definitely something special. A rare late 1960s Guyatone Gretsch copy which looks fantastic and sounds even better. Original black finish with binding everywhere, two great sounding pickups, excellent bigsby style whammy brdige, unusual original tortoiseshell guard, this guitar makes a statement. And everything works: nice straight neck, good frets,big tone from the two Jazzmaster style single coil pickups. A great player, looker and rare item for the early MIJ collector. 2006 Gibson CJ-165 Rosewood
Lovely, as-new Gibson from Bozeman Montana, with the mid size SJ200 body. The top has 1930s style scalloped X bracing under the sitka spruce with antique natural finish and a striking abalone soundhole rosette. The back and sides are premium (almost chocolate brown)Indian Rosewood. The neck has a soft V vintage profile, and the fingerboard is ebony as is the bridge. Tuners are mini Grovers. Not only all of the above ... but also fitted with high end Fishman pickup system for perfect on stage sound and comes with original case as shown in pic. Normally well over AU$5k RRP. 1981 Music Man 210RP amp
When Leo Fender returned to manufacturing amps in the mid 1970s, the Music Man range emerged from California and are now recognised as tone "sleepers" in the vintage amp market. This amp dates to April 1981, and within its compact solid finger-jointed red pine cabinet packs an extremely loud 100 watts generated by hybrid tube design running through two high performance 10" speakers. Lots of extra features incl gain, phaser, line in / out etc. Very popular with steel guitar players but would suit anyone looking for a very powerful portable amp.

1987 Marshall Silver Jubilee 50/25 1 x 12 combo amp
A fine example of this rare Marshall amp from their 25th anniversary year, finished in silver-grey tolex with chrome silver front panel instead of the usual gold brushed aluminium (later 2554s went to black tolex). In excellent condition. These amps have a 50w / 25 w feature by switching the output pentodes to triode mode for great tone at alternative volume levels. Cascading preamp for overdrive, all the Marshall tone you could want through the Celestion T3896 G12 Vintage 8 ohm speaker. Includes owner's manual and footswitch. 2009 Texas Customs Thinline Tele prototype
I was offered this body and neck for assessment separately by Texas Customs last year (google them for more info about this US boutique maker). Eye-catching 'rockabilly orange' quilted maple laminate body, bound front and back, "Texas Customs" mini humbucker at neck position - sounds fantastic, very ZZTop; then a Texas Customs bridge pickup for classic Tele tone, rosewood fretboard with medium jumbo frets on vintage tint maple neck, quality Wilkinson tuners and other hardware, CTS pots etc, etc. A one off lightweight custom US made stage guitar for the price of a MIJ Tele. 1920s Windsor 5 string 'Zither Banjo'
Another fabulous old time instrument, British made in the 1920s. The headstock has two x 3 tuners, however one tuner is not used and this is the 5 string original design. The high g string is channeled under the fret board (hence 'zither banjo' name). Oak body and neck with ebony headstock veneer. Neck is straight and vellum is in good condition, so plays well and sounds like it should. No hard case, but can provide banjo gig bag. Please enquire for more photos and information.
